August 24 is ‘Araw ng Pasasalamat’, Special Non-Working Day in Davao

Proclamation No. 1087 by the President of the Philippines is an act declaring Monday, 24 August 2015, as a special (non-working) day in the city of Davao.

The city of Davao marks its “Araw ng Pasasalamat” as part of the weeklong celebration of the “Kadayawan” Festival.

It is but fitting and proper that Davaoeños will be given full opportunity to join and celebrate in the occassion.

Triple Treat August Holidays in Davao

The people of the City of Davao will definitely enjoy 3 holidays for this month.

August 21, Friday, will be a special non-working holiday, in celebration of the Ninoy Aquino Day. The holiday was created by Republic Act 9256 in commemoration of the assassination of former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.

Another holiday will be on August 31, Monday, as it will be the National Heroes Day. It is declared as a regular holiday pursuant to the Republic Act 9492 which amended Book 1, Chapter 7 of the Administrative Code. Per RA 9492, the celebration of National Heroes Day falls on the last Monday of August.
