PESO Tagum is country’s topnotcher

The Department of Labor and Employment once again declared Tagum City’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) as this year’s Best PESO Office for Component City Category during the 13th National PESO Congress held at Palo, Leyte last September 24-27, 2013.

 

PESO Tagum was acclaimed for its excellent management of the Labor Market Information and a record-high rate in the referral and placement.

 

The office was also lauded for its excellent career guidance and employment counseling, spearheaded by PESO Tagum’s dedicated workforce who is then supervised by erstwhile PESO Manager Nilda Garcia and officer-in-charge Anwar Maadel.

 

Newly-installed PESO Manager Rogeneth Pagdilao-Llanos received the award during the national congress in behalf of the local government.

 

PESO is a non-fee charging multi-employment service facility or entity established or accredited pursuant to Republic Act No. 8759 otherwise known as the PESO Act of 1999.

Its objectives are as follows:  Provide a venue where people could explore simultaneously various employment options and actually seek assistance they prefer; Serve as referral and information center for the various services and programs of DOLE and other government agencies present in the area; Provide clients with adequate information on employment and labor market situation in the area; and Network with other PESOs within the region on employment for job exchange purposes. Louie Lapat of CIO Tagum
