Region 11 representative Mary Joyce Villanueva was crowned Mutya Ng PRISAA (Private Schools Athletic Association) 2014 at the RDR Gym, Tagum City last April 10, 2014.
Villanueva, 18, from University of Mindanao, bested 11 other contestants including fan favorite Siselle Zaira Fajardo of Region 2 and Donna Lyneth Ceniza of Region 8 who won the talent portion.
From Talent portion to the Regional Costume, Sports Attire, and Evening Gown competition, a Davaoeña made it to take home the Mutya Ng PRISAA 2014 throne from Region 10 which has been consistent holder of the crown for two years.
MJ’s answer about PRISAA’s contribution to the Philippines won over both the judges and the audience.
“PRISAA’s contribution to the Philippines is the unity of the generation today. It teaches them sportsmanship, camaraderie and values,” Villanueva’s said during the question and answer portion.
