Rave But Behave: Things To Ponder

Summer can’t come fast enough for Davaoeños and Davaoeñas. Whenever I hear the word “summer” It could only mean one thing – BEACH!! Wind on our face, salt in our hair, and sand in our toes… but surprisingly that’s not all isn’t it? I know you too have been anticipating for this, because I have. Yes, I am talking about the upcoming Summerfrolic 2015 that will be happening at the pristine white sand beach of Dahican, Mati. A 3-5 hour ride from Davao City that will surely be worth it!

We’ve all had our first rave and at that point in time we get to ask ourselves, what is it really all about? What should I expect to happen? But whatever it is, we just dropped our uncertainties and decided to dive into the event! So for the first timers out there who are also a little high-strung like I was on my 1st rave (but let’s not get into that.) I’ll be writing down a list of tips to bring and on how to look hip in your first one. You’re welcome 😀

Flipflops or Sneakers

We can never argue with it, these are the basics. I mean, who would wear 5-inched stilettos on a rave party anyway? Unless you want to break your ankles while jumping to the beat of course. Expect to stand a lot my friends.

Short shorts

Don’t wear pants!! This rule applies for both men and women. Wear something that can make you move freely. In addition, most rave parties take place outdoors. Meaning, there is no air-condition and there’s a 90% chance you will be sweating. (I know you would also want to show more of those sexy legs)

Tank tops

Bikini tops, tank tops and those cropped tops. Show more skin but remember to keep it classy.

Accessories and add-ons

Complete your cool summer getup and show off your playful side with these fun, festive, and colorful merchandise from Olivia & Diego.

Other than your coachella-inspired blings, bring only what’s essential! Water bottle, an airtight purse or mini bag (anticipate rain, splashes of water and drinks from the crowd), and of course your handy mobile phone to take awesome pictures. I strongly suggest to be extra careful with your belongings. Rave parties are large and you will be expecting to be pushed and tugged along with the party goers. Those expensive jewelries should stay at home.

So that’s it! You really don’t have to follow my list, just be yourself and enjoy! It’s all about expressing yourself and most of all, being unique. The important thing to remember is to have fun with your friends and with those soon-to-be friends.
