Facebook Facing Security Breach

Facebook Vice President of Product Management Guy Rosen posted on a blog saying that on September 25th a security breach was discovered by the Facebook engineering team. The security issue is affecting 50 million accounts. Facebook does not know yet who the hackers are or what information they may have obtained. They also have not announced which countries are affected.

“Since we’ve only just started our investigation, we have yet to determine whether these accounts were misused or any information accessed. We also don’t know who’s behind these attacks or where they’re based,” Rosen added.

Mark Zuckerberg said in his Facebook page “While I’m glad we found this, fixed the vulnerability, and secured the accounts that may be at risk, the reality is we need to continue developing new tools to prevent this from happening in the first place.”

Facebook will reset the access of 90 million users. Logging back will be required the next time they will use Facebook. Facebook. At the top of their news feed, a message will show explaining what happened.

Precautionary measures have also been implemented to manage the breach.
