Tagum City – Tagum once again proved its competitiveness by bagging the 3rd place in the recently concluded 8th Regional Competitiveness Summit for the most competitive provinces, cities, and municipalities in the Philippines earlier this month.

Tagum ranks 1st in the two out of four competitiveness pillars which are the bases for the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index; these are Government Efficiency and Resiliency. Meanwhile, Tagum ranks 4th in Infrastructure and 13th in Economic Dynamism, respectively.

The award is a manifestation of the local government unit’s resolve in giving the best quality service to its constituents despite the on-going health crisis and serves as bonus during this holiday. It can be recalled that Tagum placed 7th last year which showed its improvement this year by placing four ranks higher amidst the challenges.

The said award was conferred virtually by the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index and the Department of Trade and Industry via Facebook live streamed in the former’s page.

On the other hand, the Province of Davao del Norte ranks 2nd Overall Most Competitive Province in the Philippines. Ziyarah Manalo/CIO Tagum
