Here in Davao Eagle Online, when we say “talent”, it means a great deal of talent. This is what our next dude exemplifies as he shows us that music, arts, and modeling can be done together.

Chemp Raña, a singer, a musician and a songwriter who also loves to draw, sets no limits on what he loves to do. That’s why, this multitalented guy gets a lot of attention in the local entertainment scene.

Who is Chemp Raña? Tell us something exciting about you.

I’m just a simple lad who grew up in the south, in the town of Guihing, Davao del Sur. I am of an Irish/Jewish/Filipino descent. I’m planning to visit my relatives in the US someday.

How were you discovered?

I was discovered by a local handler in Digos back when I was 14, and when I attended my first semester in college here in Davao, someone approached me at school and asked me to join a local modeling contest.

How would you describe your own personal fashion style?

Just the basic. I am comfortable with just plain, body-fitting shirt and denim jeans when I go out.

What are your talents?

I can sing and play a guitar, and at the same time write songs. I am one of the original members of ACE band in Davao, and also with APATB in Digos. I am also into sketching. I love to draw people’s eyes.

What’s on your current playlist?

I listen to different genre, but I’m into pop-rock, like 5 Seconds of Summer and The Vamps.

Is there any famous person that you would like to meet? What would you probably ask?

Brad Pitt. One question would not be enough. I’d probably ask him about his life as an actor, how he handles fame having a lot of kids in the house, and of course, the hot Angelina Jolie.

Who’s your current “eye candy”?

Hailee Steinfeld

What’s your favorite movie?

Avatar. I love the original story and the special effects. James Cameron is such a brilliant director in this generation.

Are you active on social media?

I am active on Facebook only. I don’t have Twitter and Instagram accounts. I’m too busy in school though.

What’s your dream modeling Job?

To walk in the runways in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, be on a campaign of a famous designer/brand and travel the world.

Is there any brand you would love to model?

Balmain. I love the details of the brand’s designs. I’d like to wear one of those, if given the chance, while I’m performing with my band.

Any favorite designer?

Olivier Rousteing, the current head designer of Balmain. Lesley Mobo would be my favorite Filipino designer.

How do you keep in shape?

I go to gym twice or thrice a week, and I watch my diet. I drink a lot of water and avoid soda as much as I can.

What’s your beauty secret or essential grooming routine?

Healthy diet, complete bed rest, and just a moisturizer for my face.

Why Davao?

I feel safe when I am in Davao. Davaoeños must be proud of their city.
