“It is our honor to be able to bring this grand celebration to the deserving teachers of Davao. After the main event in Manila, we decided to bring the experience to our teachers from other areas, including Japan and now Davao. This is our way of rewarding as many teachers as possible for their valuable presence in our lives,” PLDT Gabay Guro Chairman Chaye Cabal-Revilla said.

#TeacherfestDAVAO2016 was celebrated with the enthusiastic Gabay Guro celebrity volunteers. To name a few who were present in the event are the concert queen herself, Pops Fernandez, multitalented performer Aicelle Santos, international Pop Star Christian Bautista, Miss Universe-Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa, Philippine Volcanoes star Andre Wolff, and the highlight performer of the event, the Asia’s Songbird and PLDT Home ambassador, Regine Velasquez.

Aside from the star-studded performances, the event also featured some amazing raffle prizes ranging from cash to laptops with Smart Bro Pocket Wifi modems. Also, there are giveaways and freebies for the teachers.

The #TeacherfestDAVAO2016 also awarded a retired teacher who serves as an inspiration to everyone. Ms. Conchesa Lagare, also known as Teacher Ching, has been helping unprivileged children for over 9 years. She’s holding feeding programs to different schools in Davao and even providing them with school materials every start of the school year. All of her income goes to her charity work. At the age of 75, Teacher Ching is still eager to continue her generosity and aims to feed more children in the entire city.
